Netflix's hit French thriller returns as Lupin: Part 4 prepares for its global debut on the streaming platform, bringing fresh mysteries and high-stakes drama surrounding gentleman burglar Assane Diop.
What's new
Netflix will release all eight episodes of the fourth chapter simultaneously on Friday, October 23, 2026. Beyond the storyline, the production has seen key creative shifts. Lead actor Omar Sy has stepped into an expanded role as co-showrunner alongside filmmaker Louis Leterrier. Casting updates have also been made for the new season: Théo Christine replaces Etan Simon as Assane and Claire's son Raoul, while emerging talent Laïka Blanc-Francard joins the cast in a major role tied directly to the central heists.
About the series
Originally shaped by co-creator George Kay, the drama is now spearheaded by Gaumont in partnership with Carrousel Studios, a joint venture launched with producer Thomas Benski. Writing for this chapter is handled by French screenwriters Florent Meyer, Tigran Rosine, and Marie Roussin, while directors Edouard Salier, Everardo Gout, and Hugo Gélin helm the eight episodes.
Along with Omar Sy returning as Assane Diop, several core cast members reprise their roles:
- Ludivine Sagnier as Assane's former partner, Claire
- Antoine Gouy as master craftsman Benjamin Férel
- Soufiane Guerrab as Detective Youssef Guédira
- Shirine Boutella as Lieutenant Sofia Belkacem
- Hervé Pierre as Hubert Pellegrini
- Clotilde Hesme as Juliette Pellegrini
What to expect
The fourth chapter moves the timeline forward with a four-year time jump. Assane begins the season incarcerated, intending to finish his sentence quietly and relocate to Senegal with his family. However, a series of complex museum thefts across Paris forces him back into action. A mysterious thief is pulling off robberies using the Lupin name, and evidence places the imprisoned Assane at the scenes of the crimes.
To unmask the fake Lupin and clear his reputation, Assane is forced to escape from prison. Meanwhile, he must contend with ongoing psychological warfare involving his long-time wealthy adversary, Hubert Pellegrini, who remains incarcerated near him.
