What's new

Netflix has confirmed that the fourth season of Lupin will premiere on Friday, October 23. Viewers can watch the entire installment immediately, as all eight episodes will drop on the same day rather than following a weekly rollout. This makes season four the longest run in the series so far, topping previous chapter counts of five, five, and seven episodes. The premiere follows a nearly three-year gap since the third part aired, marking the show's longest break between releases. Production for the new episodes ran in Paris from May through September.

About the series

Omar Sy returns to lead the cast as gentleman thief Assane Diop. He is joined by several returning key cast members:

  • Ludivine Sagnier playing Claire
  • Antoine Gouy playing Benjamin Ferel
  • Soufiane Guerrab playing Youssef Guédira
  • Shirine Boutella playing Sofia Belkacem

Actors Théo Christine and Laïka Blanc-Francard have also joined the ensemble, though exact details about their characters have not been fully disclosed. The series continues under co-creators George Kay and François Uzan, produced by Gaumont alongside Carrousel Studios. Writing for the eight episodes was handled by Rosine, Meyer, Jean-Yves Arnaud, and Mathilde Arnaud, with Edouard Salier, Everardo Gout, and Hugo Gélin serving as directors.

What to expect

Following the third season's cliffhanger where Assane turned himself in, the story resumes four years later with Assane still incarcerated. He plans to serve his full sentence and retire the Lupin identity so he can keep a promise to travel to Senegal with his son. However, his plans are disrupted when a rival copycat emerges to carry out synchronized museum robberies under Lupin's signature. When camera footage falsely places Assane at a heist where Captain Belkacem suffers severe injuries, he must break out of prison to find the imposter and prove his innocence.
