Role Overview
Staffed adventure playgrounds, such as The Big Swing Adventure Playground in Bradford and The Old Quarry Adventure Playground (The Addy) in Knottingley, are experiencing significant funding challenges. Playworkers and facility managers at these sites deliver child-led play activities, arts and crafts, outdoor exploration, and community services like holiday meals. Due to financial pressures, some playground staff are actively reducing their working hours to keep facilities open longer while organizations fight to secure funding for playworkers' wages.
