Role Overview
This is not a strategy-only advisory role—it is a high-impact, hands-on opportunity to live close to the code, challenge assumptions, and solve the hardest technical problems in distributed systems, AI, and enterprise software. Operating 100% remotely in the United States, you will partner directly with engineering leaders and executive stakeholders to turn bold product ambitions into resilient, enterprise-grade production systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the top technical authority for Legion’s Workforce Management platform, owning architectural choices across AI, optimization engines, distributed systems, and real-time decision platforms.
- Write code prototypes, reference architectures, and design specs to unblock teams and set clear technical direction.
- Architect production AI capabilities, including LLM workflows, feature platforms, retrieval, and continuous feedback loops.
- Drive system scalability, performance, and security (SOC 2, ISO 27001) for large enterprise customers.
- Mentor Staff and Principal Engineers, fostering a culture of technical rigor, pragmatic execution, and continuous learning.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience designing and scaling mission-critical, multi-tenant SaaS platforms and distributed systems.
- Proven track record as a Chief Architect, Distinguished Engineer, or Senior Principal Engineer.
- Deep expertise with modern cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) and backend languages like Java, Kotlin, Go, Python, or Scala.
- Hands-on experience architecting AI, machine learning, optimization solvers, or data-intensive engines in production.
