Role Overview
Legion is on a mission to revolutionize hourly work using AI-driven workforce management. In this high-visibility position, you'll spend ~70-80% of your time mentoring engineering teams and driving roadmaps, and ~20-30% staying hands-on with system architecture, tooling, and incident response. You will take full ownership of Legion's AWS cloud ecosystem, security operations (SecOps), and modern SRE practices.
Compensation: $220,000 – $265,000 base + performance bonus + stock equity.
Key Responsibilities
- Build & Lead: Hire, mentor, and empower a world-class, globally distributed DevOps and SRE team.
- Architect for Scale: Own the reliability, cost-efficiency, and high availability of AWS infrastructure (EKS, RDS, VPC, IAM, Lambda).
- Champion SecOps & Observability: Oversee threat detection, vulnerability management, and automated alerting using platforms like Datadog.
- Pioneer AI Integration: Apply cutting-edge agentic AI workflows to SDLC and DevOps pipelines for automated investigation and remediation.
- Drive Engineering Velocity: Advance Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform), CI/CD practices, and automated testing to eliminate operational toil.
What You Need to Succeed
- 8–12+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or production engineering, including active people management.
- Deep expertise operating enterprise AWS environments with Kubernetes (EKS) and RDS at scale.
- Strong background running SecOps, incident response, and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/CloudFormation).
- Hands-on coding skills in Go, Python, or Bash on Linux/Unix platforms.
