Scholarship Overview
The World Aquatics scholarship programme is an international initiative designed to support elite swimmers in advancing their athletic careers alongside higher education. In a notable highlight for the program, 20-year-old Ghanaian breaststroke specialist Ivan Christopher Snowden was selected to receive a fully funded opportunity combining high-performance athletic training with university studies in Bahrain.
Through this arrangement, organized with the Ghana Swimming Association, the athlete trains at the World Aquatics Bahrain Centre of Excellence while pursuing higher education at the University of Technology Bahrain (UTB). This dual award represents the first time a Ghanaian athlete has concurrently received both educational and athletic training scholarships under the World Aquatics scheme.
