Scholarship Overview
Arkansas Tech University (ATU) has received a $3.15 million donation from the Windgate Foundation to support its students through the ATU Foundation. A total of $3 million from the gift is set aside for the Windgate General Endowed Scholarship and the Sue M. Frueauff Memorial Endowed Scholarship. An additional $150,000 will be used directly by the ATU Foundation to help bridge financial gaps for students in immediate need of financial assistance so they can continue their education.
The Windgate Foundation is a Little Rock-based organization established in 1993 that supports artists, makers, educators, and communities. Since 2018, the foundation has contributed over $9 million to the ATU Foundation. Previous contributions have expanded academic opportunities in nursing and the visual arts, established pathways for students aiming for post-undergraduate medical degrees, provided professional development for art educators, and funded campus beautification efforts through artists in residence.
