Scholarship Overview
University College London (UCL) is offering a fully funded PhD studentship starting in October 2027 through the NERC Centre for Doctoral Training in Understanding Uncertainty to Reduce Climate Risks (UNRISK). The project, titled "Testing the Ability of AI-Based Regional Models to Capture Hydroclimate Changes of the Geologic Past," investigates whether artificial intelligence can enable climate models to accurately recreate historical hydroclimate changes. The successful researcher will be based in UCL Geography’s Ocean, Atmosphere & Cryosphere Dynamics research group under the supervision of Chris Brierley, working alongside project partner National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) and utilizing NVIDIA AI climate technologies.
