Scholarship Overview
The University of Southern Denmark (SDU) offers Danish Government Scholarships to qualified non-EU/EEA international students, including Pakistani candidates, applying for the September 2027 intake. The awards cover selected degree programs offered at the university's Sønderborg and Vejle campuses. Eligible academic disciplines include Engineering Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, and Computer Science.
Benefits
Selected applicants receive full tuition-fee waivers (or full/partial waivers depending on the individual offer) for the standard length of their degree program. This grants up to two years of fee coverage for Master's programs and up to three years for Bachelor's programs. The waiver applies to a regular workload of 30 ECTS credits per semester, provided the student maintains satisfactory academic progress. The award does not include a monthly living stipend, so students are required to arrange their own funding for housing, meals, transport, and personal expenses.
Who Can Apply
To qualify for consideration, candidates must fulfill the following criteria:
- Hold citizenship in a country outside the European Union (EU) and European Economic Area (EEA).
- Meet the entry criteria for an approved degree program, holding a suitable high school qualification for Bachelor's study or a recognized undergraduate degree for Master's study.
- Demonstrate required English language proficiency through an IELTS Academic overall score of 6.5 (with no sub-score below 6.5), a TOEFL iBT total score of at least 83, or a Cambridge C1 Advanced score of at least 180.
- Not qualify for or receive Denmark's State Educational Grant and Loan Scheme (SU).
How to Apply
There is no separate scholarship application form. Applicants are automatically considered when applying for admission to an eligible program at SDU. Candidates applying for Master's programs must submit their application using the online DANS portal by February 1, 2027, with interviews for shortlisted applicants held between February 19 and 27. The application deadline for Bachelor's programs is March 15, 2027, with candidates assessed through the uniTEST entrance exam and online interviews held in early June.
