Applicants required to secure an Irish long-stay study visa must submit supporting documentation to the Department of Justice, including financial summary forms and evidence of English proficiency.
Important Visa and Legal Updates
Applicants should stay informed about recent immigration developments. The Irish High Court recently overturned a long-stay student visa refusal for a Gazan student who had been awarded a fully funded engineering place at UCC. Justice Anthony Barr ruled that the Department of Justice committed significant errors by overlooking submitted evidence of English language proficiency and a financial summary form. The judge directed the department to make a new decision within 10 working days, enabling the student to meet a November 23 evacuation flight deadline to begin studies in Ireland.
